W.C. Stripling Middle School was built in 1927 as a city high school, however transitioned to a junior high school in 1937. The original school building expanded twice, in 1955 and 1958, as the population of students grew. Today, there are 700 students who attend W.C. Stripling from grade 6 through grade 8.
